Andrew Cilla was born and raised on the shore of New Jersey. As a young boy, he spent most of his time on the water fishing and sailing. At the age of eleven, Andrew used his savings to buy his first boat, a 10' gaff rigged dinghy. Summers and holidays were spent working at local boat yards, marinas, as well as captaining fishing boats to earn money for college.

In 1976, he joined Luke Brown Yachts. A year later Andrew acquired the firm and assumed the role of President. Through hard work, dedication to his clients and brokers and a commitment to integrity, Andrew lead Luke Brown Yachts to 42 profitable years. July 1, 2020 the firm was acquired by Lormax Stern. Andrew now serves as the firm's Global Ambassador.

In 2014 Andrew began developing the design criteria for his ultimate family yacht, the Outback 50 . Actually 56 foot in length, this unique concept vessel incorporates all of the important elements of functionality, performance and comfort into an easily handled cruiser. Working with the world renowned design firm, Michael Peters Yacht Design, the Outback 50 became a reality in 2019. Andrew spends much of his time cruising the East Coast, Bahamas and Florida Keys onboard his Outback 50.

The Outback 50

Andrew founded Outback Yachts in 2014, working with John Olson and Michael Peters to realize his vision of creating a yacht that perfectly captures the spirit of “living on deck”.

Andrew established his priorities based on his 50 years of boating experience: outdoor living, modest interior accommodations, and simple, essential design were the driving forces behind his vision. Outback Yachts was formed with a mission to revolutionize recreational yachting. The Outback 50 is the flagship yacht that fully embodies that mission, and it's the product of over a decade of dreaming, research, planning, and testing.

The Outback 50 completely redefines recreational yachting with more deck space than any yacht in its class, providing the ultimate experience in outdoor living. Its uniquely designed hull, shallow draft, and aft engine placement create a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride. The Outback 50 is also extremely economical, requiring only 600 total hp to push her to 20 knots. Michael Peters, an award-winning naval architect and yacht designer, created a clean, contemporary design for the Outback 50 based on their shared vision of a unique motor yacht that combines style, function, and performance.
